The section of river we paddle is slow-moving and shallow with close shores, making it perfect for novice paddlers of all ages. Our large, stable canoes work wonderfully for families and groups with young children.

You choose the 3, 5, or 9-mile distance, which correspond to about 1, 2, or 3 hours of easy paddling. Stop for a picnic, jump off rope swings, go for a swim, look for wildlife, or just float! You've got the boat for the day, so explore as long as you'd like.
Take-out points are easy to find and directions are given. Once you're finished, we give you a ride back to the launch.
Stop at the 3-mile take-out and you'll find yourself in the shade of the largest tree in Connecticut, the Pinchot Sycamore!
